Tips of the week

“Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you’ll understand what little chance you have in trying to change others.”

Jacob M. Braude

Focus only on what you can control. and change. You! You can, if the time is right, have some influence over others. You can have an impact on a situation. Yet, spending too much time on these areas, where your control and ability to change things is limited, zaps your energy and attitude. Invest in changing your thought patterns and response to people, circumstances and yourself. That, in turn, will change you.

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings."

William Arthur Ward

Pick three things every day to be grateful for. Choose something about yourself, your world and the people you know. It will bring, over time, positive energy to you and your life. Be a magnet for good. Be grateful!

“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual. It is surprising how contented one can be with nothing definite — only a sense of existence.”

Henry David Thoreau.

You exist. Therefore, you are. Be grateful for the small things such as the air you breathe, the water you drink and the food you eat. Truthfully, they are not small. Without them you could not exist and you would never be content, let alone experience and be thankful for the opportunity that is your life.

Be not afraid of going slowly, be only afraid of standing still.

The trick to action on your goals is getting started.

Thinking is easy, acting is difficult, and to put one’s thoughts into action is the most difficult thing in the world.

An affirmation is a statement of truth you make firm in a person’s heart when you utter it.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.

Success comes in a lot of ways, but it doesn’t come with money and it doesn’t come with fame.
